About

Katie is a lifelong resident of the Michigan City area and has a passion for the growing and vibrant community.  Katie’s past work experiences include economic development, workforce development, nonprofit management, community development, program management, volunteer/employee recruitment, fundraising, and marketing.

Katie is a graduate of Michigan City High School and attended Purdue University Northwest where she obtained her bachelor’s degree, majoring in English and Communications, and later her Master’s in Business Administration. Katie is a Leadership La Porte County graduate, has received a certificate of completion from Ball State University’s Center for Community Economic Development program, and has completed her Institute of Organizational Management certification.

Katie is a current board member of the Economic Development Corporation Michigan City, an active member of the Michigan City Rotary Club, a member of the Vibrant Communities of La Porte County Housing Taskforce and Steering Committee, and an active volunteer in her community for a variety of organizations.  She was listed in the NWI Times 20 Under 40 for 2018 and received the NWI Influential Women Award in the category of Up & Coming in Economic Development in that same year.  She lives in La Porte County with her husband Jeff and their three children.  Outside of work, Katie spends much of her time with her family and supporting her children’s activities such as baseball, theater, and music.

Katelyn has lived in Michigan City her whole life and takes pride in her community to see it continue to grow and thrive every day. Katelyn’s past and present work experiences include still actively working at Fannie May for the past 6 years, which she enjoys seeing her regulars there. She has also worked at Michigan City Port Authority as an office aide and was a marketing intern at Signature Graphics.

Katelyn is a graduate of Michigan City High School and recently graduated from Purdue University Northwest where she obtained her bachelor’s degree, majoring in Marketing. Katelyn has been a mentor for the Michigan City Youth Leadership Program and enjoys helping with the Michigan City Girls’ Volleyball team whenever she can.

During Katelyn’s free time, she loves going to the lake for sunsets and looking for beach glass along the lakefront. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, also she likes to work out when she can during the week.

About

Having spent summers in the area his whole life, Dan moved to Michigan City full time in 2016.  Dan’s past work experiences include being a Mortgage Loan Officer with Bank of England Mortgage, a Credit Analyst with Horizon Bank, a video coordinator with the Providence College Women’s Basketball team, and a year working in Walt Disney World as part of the Disney College Program.

Dan is a graduate of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois and attended Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island where he received a bachelor’s degree in Global Studies and later his master’s in business administration.  Dan is a graduate of Leadership La Porte County and also serves as a member of the organization’s Board of Directors

When outside of the office, Dan spends most of his time outdoors either on the beach, on the golf course, or exploring new areas with friends and family.
