(MICHIGAN CITY, IN, May 22, 2019) – Had playwrights Noel Coward and Agatha Christie collaborated, they may well have written Smoke & Mirrors. This captivating farcical comedy, written by Anthony Herrera and Will Osbourne, opens at Dunes Summer Theatre on May 31 with a three-weekend run.
Smoke & Mirrors takes audiences to an isolated island off the Mississippi gulf coast where a power-hungry film producer/director proves he will stop at nothing to kill off the insufferable star actor of his multimillion-dollar film. All goes as planned until a wily, eccentric sheriff unearths one surprise after another. This riveting mystery comedy will keep audiences guessing to the last act.
Local Michigan City area actors, Eileen Long (Barbara the publicist) and Jeffrey Baumgartner (Hamilton the Director), are joined by Atlanta actor, David Cowan (Clark the eccentric writer), and Chicago actors Colin Bowles (Sherriff) and RJ Cecott (the self-absorbed movie star).
The play runs May 31 through June 16 on Fridays/Saturdays at 7 PM CDT and Sundays at 2 PM CDT. Season Tickets and individual show tickets are now on sale (General Admission is $20; Seniors/Students $18).
