New Directors Added to the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce Board
MICHIGAN CITY, IN – December 22, 2023 – The Michigan City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce newly elected directors to the board for 2024. The following directors were unanimously approved during the November Board meeting.
Approved for their first three-year terms are Aaron Black with Horizon Bank, Nicholas Neal with Geminus Corporation, Anthony Novak with Newby Lewis Kaminski & Jones, and Jeremy Rossi with Uptown Social. Completing the term of a vacated position through 2024 is Raven Jackson with Hitachi Global Air Power. Completing the term of a vacated position through 2025 is Chris Pellerin with Blue Chip Casino, Hotel, & Spa (photos provided). Elected to serve a second three-year term are Kim Giannetti with General Insurance Services and Mark Zemrowski with Von Tobel. The 2024 Board of Directors will be led by Sandy Smith with PNC Bank who has served on the board since 2019. Smith will appoint officers for the board at the January board meeting.
Directors on the board are nominated by fellow members of the chamber of commerce and represent a variety of businesses and organizations in the Michigan City area. “I am grateful to all the directors who serve on our board,” stated Chamber President, Katie Eaton, “and I would like to extend a special thank you to our five outgoing directors who have given of their time.” Directors departing at the end of 2023 are Paz Garcia with Sodexo after serving 3 years, Bill Gertner with Horizon Bank after serving 6 years, Kristina Jaccobuci with Newby Lewis Kaminski & Jones after serving 6 years, Brenda Temple with Blue Chip Casino, Hotel, & Spa after serving 6 years, and John Wall a retired associate after serving 6 years. Additionally, both Gertner and Temple served in a variety of roles on the Executive Committee during their tenure.
Directors continuing their terms on the board include Blake Applegate with Applegate & Company CPAs, Jesse Baldwin with Triplex Plating, Julie Krause with Patrick’s Grille, Jill Nygren with Franciscan Health Michigan City, Lori Tubbs with McColly Bennett Commercial Advantage, and Greg Wilkerson with Fiberbond and Blocksom. Ex-officio directors are Dr. Barbara Eason-Watkins with Michigan City Area Schools and Aco Sikoski with Ivy Tech.
